Basic powering calculations can now be performed within Hydrostatics, the functionality having been incorporated from the old Hydro module.

You can define a number of Loading Conditions, which may include any conditions formerly set up in Hydrostatics, or may be defined by specifying the draughts at the aft and forward perpendiculars.

Basic propeller optimization is firstly performed, based on the initial (design) condition. The design speed (if not given) is then calculated and the resistance factors estimated for each loading condition and at each required speed (including the design speed). The resistance estimation is based on one of fifteen available empirical methods.

Finally, the speed-power estimation is calculated based on the above calculations and any service allowance, propeller efficiency, that is required/applied.

All of the information required to perform these calculations is entered within the four tab sheets displayed on this dialog.
