Cable Tray Material

To dress a cableway branch with material, the material main element must be created first.

1. Make sure that the required cableway branch element is selected as the CE in the design hierarchy.

   Note: Only one material main element (CTMRL) can be created for a cableway branch element (CWBRAN).

2. To create a new material main element (CTMRL), select Create > Material > Main, from the main menu, to display the Create Material window:

   

The Create Material window allows you to set administrative attributes and dimensions which will create cable tray material along the entire selected cableway branch.

The Cableway and Current Branch name is displayed in the Create Material window.

3. In the Material Name field, input the name of the new main material element.

   Note: Select Autoname to apply the autonaming rules, the software automatically creates a new name for the main material element.

The Attributes part of the Create Material window allows you to set administrative and dimensional attributes.

4. Select a specification for the material from the Specification dropdown menu.

5. Input the following administrative attributes for the new material main element:

   • Description

   • Function

   • Purpose

6. In First Gap, enter the size of the gap before every material component. (Except where there are two adjoining straights.)

7. In Intermediate Gap, enter the gap distance between all adjoining straights.

8. In Last Gap, enter the size of the gap after every material component except where there are two adjoining straights.

9. In Tier Heights, enter the tier height(s).

   By default the Width and Height are populated with the default cableway width and height. Different width and height dimensions can be entered if required.
