Hull and Outfitting

Scaling Methods

If a hull, generated from offset data, exists in the current model and the General Particulars have been defined, the hull may be scaled to produce a model with different Lpp, Beam and Draught. The aspect ratio can be maintained via the option provided. Additionally, the General Particulars and Internal Surfaces may be scaled simultaneously. Having scaled a vessel in this way, any internals will also require regenerating. This can be done by selecting the Regenerate Internals option.

Two options are available:

  • Geosim scaling, that means, scaling in each direction equally

  • Non-Uniform scaling that means, the length, beam and draught/depth of the vessel can be altered independently.

These options can be found by selecting the HULL-MODELLER \ HULL SCALING menu option which displays the following dialog.
