Create or edit an Instance

  1. Set the mode of operation by selecting either Create or Edit.

The available options adjust automatically based on the selected mode.

    • If in Create mode, enter the identifier for the new instance in the ID field.

    • If in Edit mode, select the instance to modify from the ID drop-down list.

  2. Choose the appropriate Basis Group from the drop-down list.

This determines the group on which the instance is based.

  3. In the Position panel, enter X, Y, and Z values to define the location of the instance.

These values are applied relative to the basis group’s current position with respect to the global origin.

  4. In the Rotation panel, enter rotation angles (in degrees) about the X, Y, and Z axes to set the orientation of the instance.

Rotations are performed in the order X, Y, and Z, and are relative to the basis group’s current orientation with respect to the global origin.

  5. If creating a new instance, specify the Layer as required.

  6. Click Apply.

This creates the new instance in Create mode, or updates the definition of the selected instance in Edit mode.
