Point Dialog

Open the Point dialog

  • You can either:

    • Select the menu item LINE \ POINT....

    • Select the icon in the Lines toolbar.

On clicking the Point button, the User creates a point object, through one of seven options:

Intersection

At the intersection point between a curve and a curve or surface, selected in a graphics view.

Centre of Arc

At the center of an existing arc, selected in a graphics view.

Vertex

At the same location as a vertex selected in a graphics view.

Girth from vertex

At a location along the curve (selected in a graphics view) at the specified Length from a vertex (nearest to pick) in the curve. The distance is positive in the direction of the curve.

Workplane

At the specified U and V coordinates for the current working plane.

Global

At the specified global X, Y and Z coordinates.

Position

At the digitized (using cursor) point in the current working plane.

Important:
Point objects are intended to help assist in the modelling process (generation of curves ). A point is interchangeably with a vertex when it is required for picking.
