This page allows you to generate and modify the profile points which are used in Hydrostatics.
Profile points are edited via the spreadsheet and the resulting profile can be previewed in the graphics view.
Points can be automatically generated from the design itself by clicking the Generate button. If the Current Envelope option is not selected you can pick the required object from a graphics view.
Note:
Generated points are created by cutting the selected object on the centreline.
In order to get the required definition for Hydrostatics, some points will need to be deleted or added as appropriate.
The spreadsheet has a pop-up menu with the following options: COPY, PASTE, INSERT and DELETE, to help facilitate editing. If no current points exist (or no point is selected) then the pop-up will only show INSERT (adding a new point at the beginning or end respectively).
If the preview window is in edit mode (switched on/off by selecting it’s pop-up menu item EDIT MODE) then points selected in the view are selected in the spread sheet. Use the CTRL key for multiple selections and the shift key for a series of points.
Note:
While in edit mode panning and zooming is not possible.
The graphics view has standard mouse/keyboard controls for panning and zooming as well as a pop-up menu with the following options:
-
Zoom In - User is prompted to digitise (using the mouse) a rubber band for the region to zoom in on.
-
Zoom Out - User is prompted to digitise (using the mouse) a rubber band for the region to zoom out from.
-
Reset - resets the graphics view to see the full profile.
-
Redraw - refreshes the display in the graphics view.
-
Edit Mode - switches edit mode on/off, see explanation above.
Click Apply to store the profile points for the design.
