Characteristic of the AVEVA Marine philosophy is that a model of the product (the ship) is gradually built up in the data banks. Many late activities are then based on the established model, for example, the derivation of different kinds of production information.

Many programs can directly operate on the Planar Hull Modelling model, for example, in the derivation of plate parts, in the calculation of weights and centers of gravity, in producing production information for, for example, stiffeners.
