An HVAC Main Branch can be divided into multiple smaller branches. The created branches can be used to route away from the HVAC Main Branch, initially in the same direction as the leave direction of the last component.

BRCO elements are added to the main branch element and secondary BRAN elements are created.

All the tasks that a user would carry out that are associated with dividing a Main Branch are initiated from the Divide HVAC Main into Multiple Branches window.

  1. Select Utilities > Divide HVAC Main into Multiple Branches from the main menu bar to display the Divide HVAC Main into Multiple Branches window.

  2. Make sure that the required Main Branch is identified as the current element, select CE.

The Main Duct part of the Divide Main into Multiple Branches window displays the Duct Size, End Point Direction, Direction X and Direction Y of the Leave Duct on the Main Branch.

The Branches part of the Divide Main into Multiple Branches window allows you to define the number of branches along the X axis and the Y axis, create a single branch and define offset positions, automatically create equally sized divided branches.

  4. Select the number of branches to be created along the Y axis from the Y dropdown list.

  5. Select Auto-fill to create equally sized divided branches.

  7. Input a value in the X field to define the offset position of the Single Branch along the X axis.

  8. Input a value in the Y field to define the offset position of the Single Branch along the Y axis.
