The Generic Post Processor (GPP) [SF 001] reads data files in the generic file format ( Robot Interface 2 , User's Guide). These generic files are generated by the HULL Nesting (Plate Nesting , User's Guide). or the Panel Line Control Module (Plate Nesting / Panel Line Control, User's Guide). The GPP is controlled by user-defined machine configuration data file(s) and produces output files containing NC machine instructions (ESSI or EIA format) to drive a variety of 2-axis burning machines.
The program caters for all types of operations for example, blasting, marking, GSD marking, burning, text labelling and symbol labelling.
Various types of bevel data can be handled including CVBA (Continuously Varying Bevel Angles). The CVBA may be along the whole contour or along segments of a contour, for example between cutouts.
The program can also create control information for Panel Lines with one or two tool sets for parallel blasting, marking and burning.
If the burner is single headed, bevel cuts with noses are achieved by multiple passes along the contour.
The GPP can be run in two modes, one for creating the input to the burning machines and one for creating a data file that is input to a check function in the interactive Nesting System.
