The following provides a brief description of some of the icons on the Toolbar.

FILE \ NEW.. |

|
Enables you to create a new design, see New /User Design Window.. |
|||||||
|
|
FILE \ OPEN... |
||||||||
|
|
|
Brings up an Open Design dialog for you to access an existing design. |
|||||||
|
|
FILE \ CLOSE |
||||||||
|
|
|
Closes the current design. |
|||||||
|
|
FILE \ SAVE |
||||||||
|
|
|
Saves the active design using the same design name. |
|||||||
|
|
FILE \ SAVE STATE... |
||||||||
|
|
|
Saves the active design as above, but in addition, creates a backup, so that you may restore the design to this state at a later date. |
|||||||
|
|
FILE \ SAVE AS... |
||||||||
|
|
|
Brings up the Save Design dialog for you to specify a new name for the active design. |
|||||||
|
|
FILE \ RELEASE CALCULATION GEOMETRY |
||||||||
|
|
|
Releases the Calculation Geometry following any updates to compartment names, permeabilities, etc and to profile points, deck edge points, etc. This allows such changes to be automatically updated within Surface/Compartment. |
|||||||
|
|
FILE \ SAVE AS TEMPLATE... |
||||||||
|
|
|
Brings up a dialog box which allows you to save the active project as a Template. |
|||||||
|
|
FILE \ PACK FILE |
||||||||
|
|
|
Rewrite data file to recover lost space. |
|||||||
|
|
FILE \ LOAD SCRIPT... |
||||||||
|
|
|
Reads in a macro script (JavaScript or VBScript) from a file. |
|||||||

FILE \ SAVE SCRIPT... |
||||||||
|
|
|
Saves a macro script (JavaScript or VBScript) in a file. |

FILE \ IMPORT |

|

This gives the following options: |

GEOMETRY DATA (XML)... |
||||||
|
|
|
|
|
Brings up a file selection box you to select the XML geometry model to be imported into the project. NB This is now the default format for Geometry. |

|
Brings up a file selection box you to select the geometry model to be imported into the project. |
|||||

HCL FILE... |
||||||
|
|

Brings up a file selection box you to select the HCL file to be imported into the project. |

SOUNDING TUBES... |

|
|
|
|
|
Brings up a file selection box you to select a sounding tube data file to be imported into the project. |

LOADMATE DATA... |

|
|
|
|
|
Brings up a file selection box you to import bonjeans and hydrostatic and tank calibration tables, as used in Loadmate. |

|

HYDRO FILE... |
||||||
|
|
|
|
|
Brings up a file selection box you to select a Hydrodynamics data file set up in Hydro. This will create a powering, manoeuvring and seakeeping node containing the data from the Hydro file. |
|||||
|
|
|
|
DPDAS FILE... |
||||||
|
|
|
|
|
Brings up a file selection box you to select a DPDAS data file set up using DPDAS. This will create a new Dynamic Positioning node containing the data from the imported file. |
|||||
|
|
FILE \ EXPORT |

|
|
|
This gives the following options: |

This allows you to view the document as it will look once it has been printed. |

This is the standard printer set-up command. |

|

This allows you to output 2D DXF of Tankplans and Loading Diagrams. |

FILE \ PREFERENCES... |
||||||||
|
|
|
Allows you to select various global program preferences. Database storage type, Page size for printing (A4 or Letter), and the number of recent file list entries. |

FILE \ 1, 2, 3, |
||||||||
|
|
|
Allows you to directly access any one of the 3 most recently closed Hydro designs. |
|||||||
|
|
FILE \ EXIT |
||||||||
|
|
|
Closes down Hydro and prompts you to save an unsaved design. |
