For information about the dialogs in detail, see File.

The following provides a brief description of some of the icons on the Toolbar.

FILE \ NEW..

Enables you to create a new design, see New /User Design Window..

FILE \ OPEN...

Brings up an Open Design dialog for you to access an existing design.

FILE \ CLOSE

Closes the current design.

FILE \ SAVE

Saves the active design using the same design name.

FILE \ SAVE STATE...

Saves the active design as above, but in addition, creates a backup, so that you may restore the design to this state at a later date.

FILE \ SAVE AS...

Brings up the Save Design dialog for you to specify a new name for the active design.

FILE \ RELEASE CALCULATION GEOMETRY

Releases the Calculation Geometry following any updates to compartment names, permeabilities, etc and to profile points, deck edge points, etc. This allows such changes to be automatically updated within Surface/Compartment.

FILE \ SAVE AS TEMPLATE...

Brings up a dialog box which allows you to save the active project as a Template.

FILE \ PACK FILE

Rewrite data file to recover lost space.

FILE \ LOAD SCRIPT...

Reads in a macro script (JavaScript or VBScript) from a file.

FILE \ SAVE SCRIPT...

Saves a macro script (JavaScript or VBScript) in a file.

FILE \ IMPORT

This gives the following options:

GEOMETRY DATA (XML)...

Brings up a file selection box you to select the XML geometry model to be imported into the project. NB This is now the default format for Geometry.

GEOMETRY FILE...

Brings up a file selection box you to select the geometry model to be imported into the project.

HCL FILE...

Brings up a file selection box you to select the HCL file to be imported into the project.

SOUNDING TUBES...

Brings up a file selection box you to select a sounding tube data file to be imported into the project.

LOADMATE DATA...

Brings up a file selection box you to import bonjeans and hydrostatic and tank calibration tables, as used in Loadmate.

HYDRO FILE...

Brings up a file selection box you to select a Hydrodynamics data file set up in Hydro. This will create a powering, manoeuvring and seakeeping node containing the data from the Hydro file.

DPDAS FILE...

Brings up a file selection box you to select a DPDAS data file set up using DPDAS. This will create a new Dynamic Positioning node containing the data from the imported file.

FILE \ EXPORT

This gives the following options:

GEOMETRY DATA (XML)...

Brings up a file selection box you to select the XML geometry model to be exported. NB This is now the default format for Geometry.

GEOMETRY FILE...

Brings up a Save As dialog you to save the geometry model in one of 3 formats: facet, VRML or DXF.

HCL FILE...

Brings up a Save As dialog you to save a HCL file

SOUNDING TUBES...

Brings up a Save As dialog you to save sounding tube data to a file.

LOADMATE DATA...
