Preliminary Dressing with Dimensions Defined by the User

The Preliminary Dressing (User defined Dimensions) window allows you to change attributes of the dressing, dress the whole or part of the branch or remove any dressing.

  • To display the Preliminary Dressing (User defined Dimensions) window, from the Preliminary Dressing part of the Modify Material window, select Dimensions defined by the user.

Dimension Options

Dimension options allows you to automatically populate dimension fields with attribute defined by an external source:

  1. From the Load From Application Data dropdown, select from the Application Data. For more information on Application Data, refer to the Design Reference Manual.

  2. From the Load From Specification dropdown menu, select a specification to populate the dimension fields. After a few minutes, a Message window is displayed select OK to change the specifications.

  3. Select Load from File to select a file to populate the dimension fields.

  4. Input the required tray length in the Tray Length for Dressing with Straights field.

Attributes

The Attributes part of the Preliminary Dressing (User defined Dimensions) allows you to define the attributes for the material element.

By default the Width and Height are populated with the default cableway width and height. Different width and height dimensions can be entered if required.

  1. In First Gap, enter the size of the gap before every material component. (Except where there are two adjoining straights.)

  2. In Intermediate Gap, enter the gap distance between all adjoining straights.

  3. In Last Gap, enter the size of the gap after every material component except where there are two adjoining straights.

  4. In Tier Heights, enter the tier height(s).

  5. To apply the changes, select Apply Changes.

  6. To dress the branch backwards, check the Dress Backwards checkbox.

    Dress whole branch

    • Use the Dress whole branch part of the Preliminary Dressing (User defined Dimensions) window to specify what elements will be dressed on the whole branch.

      With Cable tray

      components

      Adds cable tray components to the whole cableway branch, observing any gaps set.

      With Straights

      Adds straight components to the whole cableway branch. Selecting the Do not cut checkbox prevents components being cut to fit the designated cable tray length.

      With only Bends

      and Risers

      Actions the creation of bend and riser components, where appropriate, along the cableway branch. Further elements can then be added using one of the other Dress options.

      With only Tees

      and Crosses

      Actions the creation of tee and cross components, where appropriate, along the cable branch. Further elements can then be added using one of the other Dress options.

    Dress part of branch

    • Use the Dress part of branch part of the Preliminary Dressing (User defined Dimensions) window to specify what elements will be dressed on parts of the branch that are selected.

      Picked Point

      Allows you to pick a point on the branch at which a component is to be added. You will be prompted to Pick near the rout point(POINTR) to be dressed:

      Picked Attachment Point

      Allows the user to pick an attachment point on the branch at which a component is to be added. You will be prompted to Pick RATTA to dress:

      Straights between

      Picked Components

      Adds straight components between the picked components on the cableway branch. You will be prompted to Pick First Element:, then Pick Second Element:

      Segments with Straights

      Adds straight components to a selected segment. Selecting the Do not cut checkbox prevents components being cut to fit the segment length. You will be prompted to Pick near the start of the segment to be dressed:

      Segment with

      all components

      Adds all the required cabletray components to a selected segment. You will be prompted to Pick near the start of the segment to be dressed:

    Remove Dressing

    • Use the Remove Dressing part of the Preliminary Dressing (User defined Dimensions) window to remove dressing from parts or all of the branch.

      From Branch

      Removes cable tray material from the whole cableway branch.

      From Segment

      Removes cable tray material from the whole of the selected segment.

      From Point

      Removes the cable tray component from a selected point on the cableway branch.

      All Straights from Branch

      Removes all the straight components from the whole branch.

      All Straights from

      Segment

      Removes all the straight components from a selected segment.

    Material

    1. To apply the preliminary dressing, select Apply.

    2. To remove the preliminary dressing, select Remove.

    3. To return to the Modify Material window, select Back to CableWay Material Modify Task.
