A BRAN can own a wide variety of components such as gaskets (GASK), flanges (FLAN), tees (TEE), valves (VALV), or elbows (ELBO). These form the shape and geometry of the BRAN and ultimately the pipeline itself.

Piping components are selected using Piping Specifications that reference standard catalog data. For example, each time you want to use a 100mm bore elbow, PDMS always accesses the data for it from the component catalog. The data for this remains constant no matter how many 100mm bore elbows are used in the design.
