Background

When designing the internal structure in AVEVA Marine the cutouts for penetrating profiles are supposed to be selected from a set of available cutout types. These are of two types: those built into the system and those created by the customer. In both cases the cutout types may be explicitly picked by the designer.

This document describes an alternative facility that lets the customer define default cutouts. A cutout is default for a specific combination of a profile type and a panel data type. The facility can be used to simplify the establishment of cutouts in the Planar Hull Modelling module.
