In order to produce both tabular and graphical tank calibrations, you must first select the first Tank Calibration icon and, via the Edit Table button in the dialog ensure that the tabulated output contents and format presentation style meet requirements. There is no restriction on the number of tanks that can be analyzed at one time, and more than one density can be specified for the contents of each tank.
The analyzes are then initiated by again selecting the Tank Calibration icon and selecting the Calculate command in the sub-menu. For each specified trim and density, and the single angle of heel, a calibration will be carried out at each specified sounding/ullage increment, and with the output consisting of:
volume, weight, center of gravity (longitudinal, transverse and vertical) and both transverse and longitudinal second moments of area of the waterplane.
For sounding tubes, calibrations are referenced against both sounding and ullage values, which are measured between the specified coordinates of the tube. For radar sensors, only ullage values are reported, measured in the direction of the vessel’s local z axis. For pressure sensors, only soundings are reported, measured normal to the waterplane.
A wizard is provided to enable you to customize the layout and field width, and the number of decimal places of each item input within the final table.
A three-dimensional Geometry View can be created for assistance in both compartment and loading visualization and the Typical Geometry View image provides a typical example.
