Calculating the Hydrostatics

To calculate the hydrostatics, select the SAC for which the hydrostatics are required and click the Hydro button in the Hydrostatics panel. The hydrostatic values will be displayed and output in the Output Window. The Aft and Fore options allow the hydrostatics to be calculated between the aft and forward limits entered in the respective edit boxes.

If the hydrostatics are not acceptable the SAC can be modified either manually or using the 1-cp or Lackenby methods provided in the Distortion page. Select the method (1-cp or Lackenby), select the parameter to alter and enter its value in the edit box. The method used can be constrained over the forward or aft regions by selecting the desired option and entering the required values in the edit boxes.

If the SAC is modified, the stored curves can be transposed to match the new SAC. This is achieved from the Curve Transposition panel. Individual curve types can be selected from the pulldown list, or all curves can be transposed by selecting the All check box. The Accept toggle will store the curves, overwriting the previous curves. Selecting the Pre-connect checkbox will ensure that patch boundary networks remain connected after the transposition, so that surfaces can be rebuilt. Surfaces are rebuilt by opening them in the Patch and Curve Editor (PACE) and clicking the Rebuild button, .

The SAC can be accepted just like any other curve.
