After setting the position of the platform opening you can then define the shape of the opening within the platform, this is consistent with the functionality for defining the shape of the platform in that is utilizes the routing path element.

The shape definition can be defined using the shape selection templates or by free form interactive sketching using the pick corner points link, any changes made refresh the graphical preview of the shape, size and position of the platform opening. Where the graphical preview refreshed with each change made in the form but is not committed to the database until the Define Platform Opening Boundary link is picked.

Picking the Define Platform Opening Boundary link returns you to the previous status of the Create Opening form for you to commit the changes to the database. It is only at this stage that the physical changes are committed to the platform object and the graphics are updated.
