The AVEVA Global Server uses AVEVA License System 1.0 (ALS). The new license system is required for AVEVA Global Server 12.1.SP4 when used in conjunction with base product.
The ALS incorporates the Dual Licensing System (DLS), which means that the License Server will support license requests from existing Flexman clients and new ALS clients. Therefore it is best practice to install the new ALS for all AVEVA clients (base product) when using AVEVA Global Server 12.1.SP4.
To use AVEVA Global Server 12.1.SP4 the user will need to request a new ALS License File from AVEVA (the user will need to provide details on the system it is using) and install the server onto the network. Further details can be found in the ALS documentation.
If the AVEVA License client has not been set up, or configured incorrectly the daemon will display the following error:

If the AVEVA License server is not available and it has not been set-up or the Daemon cannot establish a connection, the following error will occur:

Note: Two license servers have been defined, both of which are unavailable.
