This presents a single option - Use tange targets. Checking this box means that the system will attempt to tange (impose continuity of tangency) across the boundaries between adjacent patches according to the following rules:

  • If the boundary is based on a Knuckle type curve, or both patches are planar, no tanging is performed.

  • Otherwise, if both patches are B-Splines, tanging is performed by modifying them both.

  • Otherwise, one of patches is a B-Spline, and the other planar. In this case the B-Spline patch is modified to tange into the planar one.

After building the surface, tangency conditions across individual patch boundaries can be modified using the tangency controls (see Changing tangency conditions).
