AutoCAD Working Practices

A Backing/Overlay Sheet can be created using standard AutoCAD functions. The only special requirement for a Sheet is that it is constructed from AutoCAD entities that can be translated into Draft entities (see AutoCAD Entities into Draft Elements). Note that 3D AutoCAD entities cannot be sent back to Draft. AutoCAD entities smaller than 0.01mm will not be transferred. The AutoCAD entities that can be reproduced in Draft are:

  • Line

  • Point

  • Circle

  • Arc

  • Text (with Generation Normal)

  • Attribute (Visible, with Generation Normal)

  • Inserts which contain 2D primitives as specified above
