Automatic

By clicking the Automatic button, the patches will be sorted automatically. The criteria for automatic reorganization is as follows:

  • Sort by patch data form first. Patches with data which is flat will be placed before patches with data which is not flat.

  • Sort by patch type next. Boundary patches will be placed before Scatter and Regular patches.

  • Finally, sort alphabetically by patch name. This assumes that the user has named patches sensibly (for example, FOS01, FOS02, for flat of side patches) and so patches in the same region will be grouped together.

The automatic sort is not intended to produce the optimum order but will help in situations where the recommended order of patch generation has not been followed.

The Reset button will discard any changes made (and not applied) and reset the order to that stored in the design.

The Apply button will apply the changes made to the patch order. If Generate is selected, then all patches will be refitted with continuity based on the new patch order. If Generate is not selected, the changes are applied but the patches are not refitted. In this case there will be no fitted patches.

The Patch column shows the patch name and an icon to indicate the patch type and data form:

The patch data form is an indication of whether the patch data is flat or not before any continuity is set.
