Figure 4:17. The Compartment Editor dialog - Merged page.

This enables you to create or edit the component compartments that make up a merged compartment's definition. A definition consisting of Positive and Negative components, as shown in the appropriate lists.

Note:
That only one merged compartment can be edited at a time.)

The ID field is used to enter the identifier for the compartment (Create mode only). Remember that the maximum length of IDs in Hydrostatics is 8.

Note:
If however the supplied ID already exists a number will be appended to it to generate a unique ID. (If the supplied ID ends in a number then this will be incremented.) The ID can be changed at a later stage via the tree.

The Title field enables the long description to be altered (only one compartment at a time).

The Category drop down list is used to select the required category (see Compartment Categories) to be assigned to the compartment.

In the Permeability panel, two permeability factors Structural and Damage can be set. These design factors are used within Hydrostatics.

To add components in the appropriate list either, (a) select Get (from the pop-up menu) to interactively pick the required compartments via the cursor in any of the views (use the space bar to end the selection process), or (b) drag the items from a tree view and drop them into the list.
