What is the Catalog For?

The Catalog in PDMS serves a purpose similar to a parts catalog to which a pipework designer or structure designer would refer when using 'conventional' design methods. It contains details of all available components (piping and structural), including their dimensions, geometry and drawing symbols. Whereas the conventional parts catalog is a book held in the Design Office, the PDMS Catalog is a database held on the computer.
