Creating Camber and Sheer Lines

Camber and Sheer lines are constructed as 2D lines in Section and Buttock view respectively. The deck generation procedure will translate the camber line to the height defined by the sheer line. Therefore, the sheer line controls the height of the deck and the camber line can be constructed at any Z value.
Create a camber
-
Select Section view and open the 2D Construction dialog by selecting the
icon.
-
Camber and Sheer lines can be constructed using the Camber/Sheer page on the dialog.

Cambers and Sheers can be constructed in two ways. They can be created interactively via digitizing points on the screen with the cursor, or by copying a previously created Cline. Using a Cline allows parabolic cambers , by first defining a parabolic Cline. See 2D Construction Dialog for the types of Clines that can be constructed.
Create a Camber or Sheer
-
Select the Type required and enter a Name.
-
If the curve is to be digitized on the screen then toggle Cursor, click Create and select the line points with the cursor, clicking the Right Mouse button to finish.
-
If the created Camber or Sheer is to be copied from an existing Cline, deselect the Cursor toggle, highlight the Cline from the Clines list and click Create. The curve can then be fit and modified in the usual manner.
