Creating the Hull Reference Object

The hull reference object is created in the program initialize Hull Standard (inithull for short). Upon activation, the following picture shows an example of data:

If the hull reference object exists, you will get some predefined values. In the example above, the name of the hull reference object is HULLREF.
The Maximum coordinate defines a +/- coordinate that is a check for reasonable designs. If any Hull coordinate is outside this value, an error is signalled. Default value is 1000000.

The value for Name of the hull form is the surface name. Make sure it is the correct name. If not, then change it and click the button Create Object.

If additional surfaces should be used, then click the Additional Surfaces… button and make sure the names are correct:

To check that the surface set-up is ok, start for example, Structural Design and cut some curves.

Preferably the hull reference object should be made available to the applications via the environment variable SB_HREF.

If the default files have been copied from a previously used project, there might be some old references to the hull reference object via default parameters. If so remove them.
