This facility can be used for most conventional mono hull ship types. The following notes are for use where other special assignments are known to exist (L, in all cases below, is the freeboard length).

Ship types A and B of freeboard length less than 24 meters:

  1. , subject to conditions of schedule 5, paras. 3 and 17 of the rules.

  2. Maximum deduction for superstructure

The equations 1 and 2 are taken from the regulations and have been incorporated within the program. The assigning authority may specify different values.

Ships with freeboard length greater than 365 meters:

  • Type A ships

    • Of length less than 400 meters:

      Tabular freeboard = 221 + 16L - 0.02L2 mm

    • Of length greater than or equal to 400 meters:

      Tabular freeboard = 3460 mm

  • Type B ships

    • Of length less than 400 meters:

      Tabular freeboard = -587 + 23L - 0.0199L2 mm

    • Of length greater than or equal to 400 meters:

      Tabular freeboard = 5605 mm

The above equations have been obtained from Lloyds International Convention Department. They have been incorporated within the program. The assigning authority may specify slightly different values.
