Creating Surface Patches

Facilities exist for generating surface patches for a faired hull for use in downstream activities. A network of curves is selected which will represent the framework of the surface. These are normally the stem and stern profile, the flat of side, flat of bottom, major knuckles (transom, upper deck, etc) and plines, and other sections, waterlines and buttocks necessary to satisfactorily define the design shape. The Patch and Curve Editor is then used to automatically fit a surface. The surface can then be interactively viewed and manipulated.
