Individually regular patches do not form a fair surface

Often, patches may appear to be individually fair, but do not fit together to form a fair surface. There are various reasons for this, the most common being:

• Poorly selected patch boundary curves.

• Wrong smoothing function or smoothing function parameters.

• Inappropriate use of tangency controls.

• Unfair or imprecise patch boundary curves.
