Hull and Outfitting

Taylor-Gertler

This method uses the Taylor-Gertler standard series References 13 to estimate the residuary resistance coefficient from the speed-length ratio, block coefficient, volumetric coefficient and beam-draft ratio. The data is considered valid for the following ranges.

The resulting residuary resistance coefficient is then added to the frictional resistance coefficient obtained from the ITTC 1957 model-ship correlation line and then converted into an actual model scale bare hull resistance.
