Selecting and Dragging

Selecting a single data point or tangent control is simply a case of moving the cursor over the point (it will highlight) and clicking the Left Mouse button. The Data Points grid (provided it is visible) will be simultaneously scrolled to the appropriate row, and the affected attributes highlighted. Holding the Left Mouse button and moving the mouse to drag the point causes the co-ordinates update in real time. Similarly, selecting a cell in the Data Points grid highlights the corresponding data point in the graphics views:

Further data points can be added to a selection (of at least one data point) in one of the following ways:

  • Holding <Ctrl> and clicking the Left Mouse button on additional data points. Data points do not need to be selected in any particular order, and can belong to more than one curve.

  • Holding <Ctrl>, depressing the Left Mouse button and moving the mouse drags a rectangular rubber-band box. All data points inside this box (from one or more curves) are added to the current selection upon release of the Left Mouse button.

  • With a single data point selected, hold <Shift> and select a second data point on the same curve. All intermediate points are added to the selection.

Unless either the <Ctrl> or <Shift> is held, a single Left Mouse button click on the background deselects all selected data points. A click on another selectable entity (for example, another data point) will start a new selection.
