Entering and leaving end surface editing mode

To use the Interactive Waterline Endings functionality, the appropriate mode must be entered. This activates the various curves that are associated with the hull form end that is to be dealt with - note that only one end surface (forward or aft) can be dealt with at once.

Create an end surface

  1. Start PACE in either Aft or Forward End Surface mode, by clicking the Patch and Curve Editor button, .

  2. Select Aft End Surface or Forward End Surface on the Subsequent dialog (see Figure 3:88 below)

Figure 3:88. Starting PACE in End Surface Mode.

Edit an existing end surface

  1. Select the appropriate item on the tree, and then click the Right Mouse button.

  2. Select Patch and Curve Editor (see Figure 3:89 below).

  3. Alternatively, when in the PACE framework, select End Surfaces > Edit Forward END SURFACE or End Surfaces > Edit Aft End Surface to enter the appropriate mode.

A pair of axes will appear which the radii and eccentricity curves are defined relative to. If these curves already exist, they will appear too. Also, the end surface and transition curve will appear if they have been previously defined.

If the model contains an end surface that was previously created in the Lines framework, it will be converted into PACE format, along with the radii and eccentricity curves that define it.

When editing is finished, select the menu item again to exit the mode. The axes, curves and end surface will disappear (they will reappear next time you enter the mode - you do not have to select File > Apply Changes To Design).
