Once selected the system presents a user confirmation for OK to split Rail(s)? and the rail(s) are split with the Clearance on Split as defined in the criteria.

In the case of splitting individual rails the owning handrail element is maintained as the owner and no modification to the hierarchy are made as is the case with splitting handrails.
