Use the Position By window to move an element a specified distance in a specified direction, relative to its current position.
The user must first select the element to be moved in the design explorer or 3D graphical view, from the main menu, click Position > Relative (BY).
The Position By window is displayed.

Note: Axes are displayed in the 3D graphical view and the co-ordinates are set to zero.
The user must set the distance and direction, this can be done in two ways:
Input the distance and direction in the co-ordinate boxes and if required, in the wrt box, input the name of the element to which all co-ordinates are interpreted with respect to.
The position (co-ords) must now be set:
|
X |
From the drop down menu: Click to identify direction of the X axis. Input the East co-ordinate. |
|
Y |
From the drop down menu: Click to identify the direction of the Y axis. Input the North co-ordinate. |
|
Z |
From the drop down menu: Click to identify the direction of the Z axis. Input the Up co-ordinate. |
Note: X (East), Y (North), Z (Up), -X (negative East), -Y (negative North) or -Z (Negative Up).
Alternatively in the 3D graphical view, the user is prompted to Measure distance start (Snap) Snap: click to identify the start point (this must be an element), the Measure Start Distance is displayed in the 3D graphical view.

The user is now prompted to Measure stop distance (Snap) Snap: Click to identify the stop point (this must be an element), the new position is calculated and displayed in the Position By window or in the 3D graphical view.

These two points is the distance between which the offset (relative to its current position) is measured).

Click Apply, the selected item is moved to its new position, to position by another item, click to choose from the Select drop-down list:
