To translate a model file into a MicroStation input file you must be in the Design module.
If the model that you are going to export is large, then it will be a lot quicker to output the file if you enter the device tty mode rather than the graphics mode of Design and then switch tracing off (trace off). The Design EXPORT commands can be stored in a Marine macro file.
For example:
