Draft |
Vessel draft use in the Dynamic Positioning calculations. This value is used to calculate the current forces (from the non-dimensional current coefficients). It is also used in calculating the shallow water corrections. |
Displacement |
The displacement in tonnes. This value is used to calculate the wave drift forces (from the non-dimensional wave drift coefficients). |
Default |
Check this box to calculate the displacement from the Mainhull faceted definition. |
Windage Areas
Transverse Windage Area |
The transverse windage area of the vessel (at the specified draught). This value is used to calculate the wind forces (from the non-dimensional wind coefficients). |
Longitudinal Windage Area |
The longitudinal windage area of the vessel (at the specified draught). This value is used to calculate the wind forces (from the non-dimensional wind coefficients). |
Default |
Check this box to calculate the longitudinal windage area from the Profile Points. |
Semi-submersible Data
Semi-Submersible Data |
Check this box for semi-submersibles. Note: The data described below is only enabled if this option is set. Also, if Default Diagram is chosen on the Dynamic Positioning Data - Output Tab page, then a different diagram is given in the output. |
Beam of Single Hull |
The beam of a single hull. This value is only used to draw the default Thruster-Rudder Configuration Diagram. |
Transverse Underwater Area |
The transverse underwater area of the vessel (at the specified draught). This value is used to calculate the current forces (from the non-dimensional current coefficients). |
Longitudinal Underwater Area |
The longitudinal underwater area of the vessel (at the specified draught). This value is used to calculate the current forces (from the non-dimensional current coefficients). |
Default |
Check this box to calculate the longitudinal underwater area from the profile Points (see Edit - Other Data). |
