Particulars

Lpp

Included here for completeness. This value may not be edited. To change this value, use the Ship Data Dialog - Main Dimensions Sheet page on the Edit Menu - Ship Data Related Options dialog.

Beam

Included here for completeness. This value may not be edited. To change this value, use the Ship Data Dialog - Main Dimensions Sheet page on the Edit Menu - Ship Data Related Options dialog.

Draft

Vessel draft use in the Dynamic Positioning calculations. This value is used to calculate the current forces (from the non-dimensional current coefficients). It is also used in calculating the shallow water corrections.

Displacement

The displacement in tonnes. This value is used to calculate the wave drift forces (from the non-dimensional wave drift coefficients).

Default

Check this box to calculate the displacement from the Mainhull faceted definition.

Windage Areas

Transverse Windage Area

The transverse windage area of the vessel (at the specified draught). This value is used to calculate the wind forces (from the non-dimensional wind coefficients).

Longitudinal Windage Area

The longitudinal windage area of the vessel (at the specified draught). This value is used to calculate the wind forces (from the non-dimensional wind coefficients).

Default

Check this box to calculate the longitudinal windage area from the Profile Points.

Semi-submersible Data

Semi-Submersible Data

Check this box for semi-submersibles.

Note:
If this option is chosen, then default current, wind and wave coefficients will not be available. In this case, you MUST supply coefficients before the calculations can be performed.

The data described below is only enabled if this option is set.

Also, if Default Diagram is chosen on the Dynamic Positioning Data - Output Tab page, then a different diagram is given in the output.

Beam of Single Hull

The beam of a single hull. This value is only used to draw the default Thruster-Rudder Configuration Diagram.

Transverse Underwater Area

The transverse underwater area of the vessel (at the specified draught). This value is used to calculate the current forces (from the non-dimensional current coefficients).

Longitudinal Underwater Area

The longitudinal underwater area of the vessel (at the specified draught). This value is used to calculate the current forces (from the non-dimensional current coefficients).

Default

Check this box to calculate the longitudinal underwater area from the profile Points (see Edit - Other Data).
