Creating a Design

There are two methods of creating a design within Lines by importing or digitizing offset data for a set of sections and various control curves. The appropriate method to use will depend on the type of ship and the data that exists for any particular project.

The following sections explain the procedure for a typical design, however it should be stressed that Lines is an open system in that there are no mandatory curves to be used or approaches to follow. The user should adapt the available facilities to suit the vessel being defined.
