Creating Non-Planar Curves From Selected Points

This is done using the Non-Planar (Points) page of the Create New Curve dialog.

A sequence of two or more existing points must be selected. These can be:

  • Data points from one or more existing curves.

  • Intersection points between curves (shown by selecting or DISPLAY \ PATCH \ NETWORK) can be used.

The type and name of the new curve are all that need to be specified. The new curve's data points are created using the positions of these points. The order in which these points were selected determines the order that the data points appear in the curve.

If there is more than one way that the curve could be created, the user is presented with a options dialog.

The options are as follows:

  • (Re)create from selected points causes the curve’s data points to be taken from the selected points. This is usually what is intended.

  • Activate and use is an option when a curve with the same name already exists, but is inactive. If this option is chosen, this curve is simply activated (no geometry changes occur).

If Cancel is clicked, the curve creation is aborted.
