Position Output Formats

Marine users do not use the ENU (East North Up) coordinate system. Instead they use the ship reference coordinate system or the XYZ format to describe the position of design model objects. The same coordinate system is used through a particular layer.

To control the output formats of the positional codewords, attributes POSFOR (positional code word format) and GRSYS (grid system) are provided for the following PADD data elements:

These two attributes control the output format of the positional codewords that request the position of certain elements (for example, #POS, #P2POS, #PKNA^POSS, #PKTOP^POSE).
