Database Structure

The manufacturing database structure is based on a rule based approach for fitting each production part into a suitable manufacturing package. There are no restrictions in the data model; there can be any number of manufacturing packages. Manufacturing package folders can be nested to any level.

Most production parts created in the AVEVA Marine suite have design equivalents that are used for finding the manufacturing packages in which the respective production part will be stored. There are no natural counterparts in the design database for plate and profile nests, so these are handled in a different way. The nests themselves are used to find the appropriate manufacturing package. This also applies to plate parts created from geometry.
