Default and user supplied non-dimensional wind coefficients, which depend on wind direction, are defined by:
Longitudinal Force
Transverse Force
(71) |
Yaw Moment

Default wind coefficient data is given in Environmental Effects at two load conditions for three classes of vessel. When you specify either Default Supply, Drill or Tanker coefficients, the program automatically selects the default wind data for that vessel type and interpolates linearly to obtain a set of coefficients using the non-dimensional parameter 2AL/Lpp2 and the two sets of data from the appropriate default data. Extrapolation is not undertaken if 2AL/Lpp2 for the vessel defined by you are outside the minimum or maximum value on which the default data is based. In this case the coefficients are set equal to those corresponding to the nearest value of 2AL/Lpp2 for which default data is available.
