Current Curve

The user can interactively edit a selection of curves using the Patch and Curve Editor (see Curve Editing using the Patch and Curve Editor (PACE)). Alternatively, the user can manipulate one curve at a time. The curve that the user is currently working with is termed the current curve. The curve remains current until the user either accepts the curve in the design or quits the curve.

A curve becomes current when the user obtains data points:

  • By interpolating the points for the new curve from the stored curves or design data, for example, data points for a section can be interpolated from the Waterlines and/or the buttocks.

  • By modifying a stored curve.

  • By reading them from a file.

  • By intersecting construction lines with a series of orthogonal curves (Sections, Waterlines or Buttocks).

  • By copying them from the points buffer.

  • By specifying them interactively with the cursor.
