A Hull Form Definition is a collection of patches and curves which define a hull form (main hull, deck, appendage, ). They refer to existing curves and patches which will be used downstream in the Design process by Surface/Compartment, Structural Design and Hull.
Create a hull form definition

Select the Right Mouse button over the Hull Form Definitions node and click Create.
A new node will be created with an edit field.

Type in the name of the Hull Form and click the Enter Key.
The Hull Form Properties dialog will appear, allowing the user to specify the hull form type and if it is defined on the port or starboard side only or both (see Hull Form Properties Dialog).

Once the Hull Form Definition has been created, existing curves and surfaces can be added to it by selecting the required items in the sub-tree, clicking the Right Mouse button and selecting Add to Hull Form Definition.

Items can be removed from the definition by selecting the Remove from Hull Form Definition button. Individual items can be added or removed by clicking the Left Mouse button in the checkbox to the left of the item.

Items can be selected interactively by clicking the Identify button and selected items can be displayed by clicking the Display button.

By selecting the Hull Form Definition label in the tree and clicking the Right Mouse button, the user can display the hull form, rename it, delete it, change its properties or release it for use in downstream activities.
