Using this dialog, an active curve can be used in the shaping or fairing of another active curve that is fitted to its data points. The Guide Curve panel contains a list from which a guide curve is selected (by default, this is the curve that was selected when the dialog was launched). A number of data points may be selected, then moved onto the guide curve by clicking Apply. The options regarding the way that the points are moved are set in the Method panel:
-
Horizontal - Data points move horizontally with respect to the current view
-
Vertical - Data points move vertically with respect to the current view
-
Nearest - Data points move to the nearest point on the guide curve
The user also specifies if and how the points move in the third dimension (that means, the direction normal to the current view):
-
If Use current view plane is checked, the points are moved parallel to the current view, so that they appear to lie on the guide curve in that view.
-
Otherwise, the points are moved in three dimensions so that they will actually lie on the guide curve.
