Calculating a Deadweight Scale

The input to this dialog is fairly straight forward and it is probable that some input items may change as the design is progressively developed, for example, when the lightweight becomes more established.

You enter the Lower Draft, Upper Draft, Draft increment, Freeboard depth, Summer freeboard values (units: meters or feet) and the Lightship weight (units: tonnes or tons). The Entered drafts are extreme option, should be checked to indicate that the entered draft values are from the underside of keel (that means, include the keel thickness defined on the Ship Data dialog).

Calc can provide an initial value for the Freeboard depth, based on the Hull Depth at Side dimension in the Principal Particulars. However you may wish to change this based upon knowledge of intended internal water-tight boundaries.
