Create an Edge Blend

  1. Select Round or Chamfer as required.

  2. Specify the radius or chamfer width.

  3. Click Blend.

  4. Use the cursor to select the group of edges.

Note: When selecting edges, the cursor will not select edges that are behind faces. Therefore it is best to use an oblique view and rotate the object.

  5. When all required edges have been selected, press the space bar to execute the blend.

More Options for Blending Edges

To attach a Round or Chamfer blend to one or more edges, select the required option, specify the radius or chamfer width then click the Attach button and select the edges with the cursor. To generate the blend on an edge, click the Fix button and select the edge with the cursor. If the User is going to attach vertex blends, the edge blends should not be fixed at this point.

The Variable toggle allows the User to specify separate start and end radii.

To alter the setbacks select the Setbacks toggle, enter the setback value, click Change and select the edge on which the setbacks are to be changed. The End toggle allows for different start and end setbacks.

Additionally, the User can allow for angled cross curves at the end of a setback by selecting Setback Difference and specifying the difference between the two ends of the cross curve. The End option can be used to assign angled cross curves to both ends of an edge.

The Fix Local button is used to fix an edge that is not part of a closed network.
