Generating the Graphics

Once the critical attributes of a VIEW are set (for example, by an AUTO command) the graphics can be generated by:
UPDATE DESIGN
SAVEWORK
Notes: The UPDATE command creates the VIEW graphics in a Central Picture Store (CPS) within
the computer's memory.
The SAVEWORK command is not necessary but is recommended. It will save the graphics
in the CPS to Picture Files in the Picture File directory. In a subsequent DRAFT session,
the graphics will be read from the Picture File without the need for an UPDATE command.
If you leave DRAFT via a QUIT command the graphics in the CPS will not be saved and
any existing Picture Files will not be updated.
Leaving DRAFT by switching to another module will perform an implicit SAVEWORK, and
so graphics in the CPS will be saved to Picture Files.
Where it is known that the Update Design operation will take a considerable time, you may wish to initiate it as a Background Process (see Background Process Manager).
