Integration Workflow - Data Transfer to AVEVA ERM_Drawing-based Part List

The integration workflow for transferring the drawing-based part list information from AVEVA Marine to AVEVA ERM is as follows:

  1. Configure a filter for the drawing.

  2. Update the status of the drawing to Approved.

  3. Publish the drawing.

  4. Import the drawing into AVEVA ERM.

  5. Verify the data in AVEVA ERM.

  6. Provide feedback on data consumption in AVEVA ERM.

  7. Process feedback in AVEVA Marine.

Configure a filter for the drawing

The Settings dialog box in AVEVA Marine contains the settings to configure the transfer of drawing-based part lists.

You must configure a new filter before transferring the data. For more information about the Filter Configuration tab, see Filter Configuration.

The Select for Publish check box column enables you to preview the selected information before publishing. Select the check box for the drawing and click Save to save the filter.

Update the status of the drawing to Approved

The drawing must be progressed to Approved state. Only the drawings in this state can be published to AVEVA ERM.

Publish the drawing

The Publish to AVEVA ERM dialog box displays the components within the drawing.

Note: Before publishing a drawing, you must ensure that the elements within the drawing are already published through the Outfitting module to AVEVA ERM. If the drawing contains an element that is not published to AVEVA ERM, a warning message is displayed during prevalidation. For information about prevalidation, see Prevalidation.

You cannot publish the drawing in the following scenarios:

  • You cannot publish multiple drawings that contain one or more elements in common at the same time.

To ensure that the common element(s) are attached to the correct drawing, you must decide to which drawing the element(s) must belong and then publish that drawing first. The elements that are part of multiple drawings are displayed in red with a tool tip mentioning that you must publish the owner drawing first.

  • You cannot publish a drawing all of whose element(s) are already published as part of other drawing(s).

Elements that have been already published appear grayed out and a tool tip stating that the drawing does not contains any elements that are not published is displayed.

Verify the information and click Publish to publish the information to AVEVA ERM. After the information has been published to AVEVA ERM, an Update notification is sent to AVEVA ERM and the status of the drawing changes to Published.

Import the drawing into AVEVA ERM

After the components are published by AVEVA Marine, they become available for import in AVEVA ERM. An ‘Update’ notification with the context OutfittingAssembly is received in AVEVA ERM and you can act on it.

Note: If you have selected the Automatically Picked check box on the s14001 Integration Service screen, data is transferred without your intervention. For more information about the check box, see Set Up AVEVA Integration Service.

To import the drawing-based part list in AVEVA ERM:

  1. In AVEVA ERM, open the s14002 Integration Messages screen and click Process Messages. The d0211 Process Messages dialog box with the list of messages that can be processed is displayed.

  2. Select the message with object type OutfittingAssembly for the appropriate design project and click Process. The outfitting assembly part list items from AVEVA Marine are imported.

Using the s22050 Data Import screen, you can also import the drawing-based part lists without an Update notification. For more information, see Manual Import of Data in AVEVA ERM.

The information about errors, if any, is displayed in the Audit Summary and Audit Detail grids. Click Show import file audits to view all audit messages for a single file run in a batch. Click Show all audits to view information related to all audits.

When import is completed in AVEVA ERM, the system generates an ‘Acknowledgement’ or ‘Error’ notification according to the result of the import.

Verify the data in AVEVA ERM

After the outfitting elements are imported, AVEVA ERM creates or updates the part list information accordingly. This information is displayed on the s21000 Part Lists screen.

If the drawing transfer is done after the Outfitting part list data was transferred to AVEVA ERM, the items from the Outfitting part lists that previously belonged to a ZONE are moved to the drawing. To identify the items that should be moved, AVEVA ERM uses the DesignUniqueId information as the reference.

Provide feedback on data consumption in AVEVA ERM

After the import is done, AVEVA ERM sends feedback on data consumption to AVEVA Marine using the notification mechanism. If the import is successful, an Acknowledgement notification is sent back to AVEVA Marine. In case of errors during the import, an Error notification is sent.

Process the feedback in AVEVA Marine

After receiving the feedback from AVEVA ERM, do one of the following in AVEVA Marine: In case of an ‘Acknowledgement’ notification, click Promote Status. The status of the component is promoted to Imported.

In case of an ‘Error’ notification, click Demote Status. The status of the component is demoted to Rework.

This ensures that after a data transfer is successfully completed, the data is removed from the source table.

After a successful transfer, an assembly is created in the design application and is given the same name as the drawing. However, the special characters in the drawing name are replaced with an underscore (_) in the assembly name. The DrawingId attribute of the assembly displays the id of the drawing from which the assembly has been created.

The following image provides an example of a successful transfer.
