Used to project a 3D curve into two planar views for fairing.
When fairing 3D curves by projection, the system will automatically present each of the projected Clines in turn as a current curve for fairing. If you do not want to fair the particular projection then the current curve should be quit.
If more than one graphics window is open the system will ask you to indicate via the cursor the window in which to display the current curve. After modifying the Clines they are then merged to form a new 3D curve, by default this will have the same name as the old curve or you may specify a new name.
The Curve Type dropdown list specifies which type of 3D curve the final faired curve will be saved as. The Type dropdown list specifies the type of 3D curve to be projected. The Name edit box specifies the name of the merged curve, this will be set initially to the name of the curve selected for projection, the user can then change this name if required. It is good practice to add the character "M" to the named curve to indicate that this curve is to be a merged curve.
The views to be used for projection are selected from the dropdown lists under View. By default the two Clines created will be named by appending the initial letter of the projection view to the original curve name; with the option of being able to change the names. If the Keep check box is selected the Clines are stored after fairing otherwise they will be discarded.
At any point during the fairing of the Clines, it is possible to update the sections by clicking the Update button on the Fitting tab of the Edit dialog (see Edit Dialog). By doing this, the two Clines will be temporarily merged and the sections will be updated accordingly to any discrepancies between the new 3D curve and the sections.
