STANDARD DETAIL

Purpose:

To insert a detail, fetched from the Standard Detail Book, into the current drawing (details reside as subpictures of level 1-3 (view, subview or component) in the Standard data bank).

Instructions:

1. In the Insert menu, click Standard Detail.

2. All existing pages in the book are now presented in a dialog, from where the desired page is selected by user. Once the page is selected, all existing details within this page are presented in another dialog from where the user is asked to select the wanted detail.

3. If the detail selected is a view, no owner has to be defined. Otherwise, the user is requested to indicate the owner, to which the detail shall belong structurally. Clicking Operation Complete here means that a new view and possibly a subview will be created automatically.

   The transformation of the owner will now be applied on the detail, before it is positioned and possibly transformed by the user.

Result:

A copy of the user-given detail is inserted and transformed in the current drawing.
