Using a Ship Reference

To position an element with respect to the ship reference gridlines and absolute co-ordinates (X, Y and Z).

1. The user must first select the required element in the design explorer or the 3D graphical view to identify it as the CE. From the main menu bar, select Position > Using Ship References, the Position - Ship Reference window is displayed, the CE is highlighted in green and its origin is also labelled. The CE’s position is also displayed in terms of the ship reference system and X, Y and Z co-ordinates.

   

2. The user can now enter a new position with respect to the ship reference gridlines (Frame - Lg (Horz) and Lg (Vert)) with an offset or as a absolute position using X, Y and Z co-ordinates and the click Apply to commit the change.

   

3. If required, click Reset to return the CE to its original position.
