Purpose:

To enable the user to modify the points of an existing linear dimensioning,

Instructions:

  1. In the Modify menu, click Dimension Points.

The system displays a multiple-choice dialog box showing three choices:

  2. Add Point

After indicating a linear dimensioning, an arbitrary number of dimension points can be added on that dimensioning. Each point is given in dynamic interaction with the system. Once defined, the definition of next point is initiated. Click Operation Complete when ready.

  3. Move Point

The point to move in a linear dimensioning is indicated by user, where after the new position is given in dynamic interaction with the system. To select another point, click Cancel. Once the new position has been defined, the next point to move is indicated. Click Operation Complete when ready.

  4. Delete Point

The point to delete in a linear dimensioning is indicated by user, where after the result is highlighted and user is asked to confirm the deletion.

Click Yes to confirm the deletion, No or Cancel to undo the deletion. When done, the next point to delete is indicated. Click Operation Complete when ready.

Note: When adding or moving a point, the new position is given in 2D if the dimension direction is in the view plane, otherwise in 3D. Also, a check that the resulting position does not coincide with any other point in the dimensioning is done (in viewers direction).

Options:

None

Result:

The set of points referred by the linear dimensioning can be modified without having to recreate the dimensioning from scratch.
